US 395/NORTH SPOKANE CORRIDOR: SPOKANE RIVER TO COLUMBIA

Spokane, WA: Extension of the North Spokane Corridor from Wellesley Ave to Euclid Ave

Project Details

The River to Columbia Project marks Kuney's fifth project on the NSC, which will proved a much needed north-south freeway in Spokane, connecting I-90 with US 395.

This one-mile long project completed the Wellesley Ave Interchange, including the mainline North Spokane Corridor (NSC) bridge over Wellesley and two ramp bridges over BNSF spur line tracks. The project also completed the roadway excavation and embankment necessary to finish the mainline NSC down to the north side of Carlisle Ave, encompassing a mainline bridge over Euclid Ave., retaining walls, asphalt and concrete paving, drainage, and ITS and illumination appurtenances installed for future use.

In total, Kuney and its partners will construct four new bridges, and over 5,500 LF of cantilevered retaining walls, two roundabouts, and place over 2.5 miles of concrete pavement. Once complete, the NSC will be extended from its current end location at Freya Ave, to the new Wellesley Ave interchange.
