I-84 Quarry Bridges - Design-Build

Design-Build project that replaced four multi-span bridges on I-84 over the Grande Ronde River. Finished ahead of schedule and on budget.

Project Details

This design-build project consists of replacing four multi-span bridges on I-84 for ODOT. All four bridges span the Grande Ronde River, an environmentally sensitive waterway. In addition, two of the bridges also cross extremely active railroad tracks. Demolishing the old structures required extensive in-water work including constructing containment to prevent debris from entering the water. The interstate highway between the bridges and to either end of the project was also re-built. As the Design-Builder, Max J. Kuney Co. was responsible for the entire project, including: permits, bridge construction, grading, drainage, and traffic control.
